I got the idea of shooting geometrical photos of Manhattan skyscrapers while sitting at the computer in Santa Fe. I flew there, made hundreds of exposures, came home and couldn’t believe how many of the photos I liked.
I decided to make similar photos in Las Vegas, but when I got there I realized I needed to make them more specifically about Vegas, but in the same style. After I shot Vegas, I shot Detroit, and then I went to Dallas. I went to New York again in March 2016, so I shot some more then, but after I shot Dallas, I decided to make THE EMPIRE OF TEXAS its own project, and then it changed, but these were fun to make.
